ANCPL HAD A SUCCESSFUL CONSULTATIVE FORUM IN NORTH WEST.

JOHANNESBURG: On Saturday, 27 October 2018, the National Organising Committee of the African National Congress Professionals League, hosted in the North West Province the inaugural consultative forum with professionals in the North West Province. The venue was the Macoseng Sundown Resort, in Mahikeng.

The forum started later than anticipated and went on well to a robust successful engagement with professionals in the province of Bokone Bophirima. At the end of the engagements, professionals, embraced and welcome the ANCPL as apolitical instrument to advance the National Democratic Revolution (NDR). The meeting engaged very strongly on the following issues:

  1. Support for ANCPL and Commit to mobolise professionals in the North West province under the banner of ANCPL in every town and city of the North West.
  2. The forum located the Professionals League as an advanced detachment of the NDR and in class context, located as a league focusing on working class strata, in majority the Urban Working class.
  3. The Forum acknowledged that the trajectory of the NDR has been hijacked by narrow Neo-Nationalism, distorting the National Democratic Society which is None Racial, None Sexiest and Democratic that the ANC is constructing. Professionals must claim their rightful space in the national discourse and battle of ideas to defend the revolution.
  4. The Forum further emphasized the need for Ethical Leadership, across sectors, both private sector and in government. The South African Professional is currently under sharp scrutiny as a result of recent reports both in government and private sector.
  5. Professionals acknowledge that our number one enemy in advancing our revolution is Corruption! And the ANCPL must advance for corruption free professionals across sectors. It is our professionals who runs organisations and departments, and involve themselves in corrupt activities, if the new crop of professionals rejects corruption, we shall run corruption free government and corporate South Africa.
  6. The 2019 National Elections work were identified as an immediate task for ANCPL, to ensure that decisive victory for the African National Congress is delivered. The work will start with activation of structures across the country and having clear election programs, where technology should be used as an enabler to reach professionals. The forum tasked the National Organising Committee to focus more energy in areas like Gauteng, Western Cape, and Eastern Cape to intensify election work.
  7. The forum emphasized on the political currency of the ANCPL, which is to leverage on the members Skills, knowledge and networks and avail them to the use and benefit of the ANC.  The Forum also noted the intense efforts by the ANC government led by President Ramaphosa, to search for answers, in a number of challenges facing our nation. The recent Investment Summit and the Job Summit demands of the ANCPL to be at the centre of finding solutions for our nation.
  8. The ANCPL must always ensure that it stays clear from ANC leadership squabbles at all levels of the organisation, instructs the forum and ensure that ANCPL injects, scientific and qualitative direction to the ANC, through policy intervention and sound well researched strategies. The view was that ANCPL must move away from commonsense type of leadership.
  9. In the role of professionals in improving municipal services, the forum focused on North West Section 100b, and agreed to setup a committee of Experts, using the political currency of the ANCPL, within the North West province to look as possible proposals and contributions that professionals can make in a form of a report that will be handed to the North West PEC in four weeks’ time.

The Triangular Objectives of the ANCPL were embraced by the forum as they are: The Implement Objective, The Serve & Defend Objective and The Recruit Objective.

North West Provincial Organising Committee was identifies as follows; Tshepo Matome (Acting Secretary) Sephiri Nyirenda (Acting Chairperson), Vuyisile Ngesi, Thebeitsile Mokoto, Susan Gae and Olerato Phiri.

In driving the rebuilding, unity and renewal of the African National Congress (ANC), it is upon the ANCPL, to demonstrate unity and renewal to the ANC and ensure that all the forgotten sons of our MDM movement finds expression in the day to day activities of their beloved organisation and participate in the building of ANC and the country. The political distance between the ANC and professionals, or the neglectful relationship the party has with professionals must be closed immediately.  The ANCPL call on our ANC to provide clear and decisive leadership on the issues of E-Tolls in Gauteng Province and for all demployees of the ANC to take que from President Cyril Ramaphosa on any other issue like the issue of resolving unemployment and economic growth in our country. Contradictory messages from our ANC leadership cannot be accepted anymore. The ANC must speak in one voice and deploy a similar ANC strategy in all ANC and government matters.

As the ANCPL we draw our strength from the ANC Women’s League who took 25 years before being officially incorporated into the ANC from 1918 to 1943 National Conference. We are ready for this political journey as the ANCPL. The next ANCPL Consultative Forum will be in Mpumalanga Province, Emnotweni Sun, 10 November 2018 at 11h00AM.
