*ANC MEDIA ALERT: NEC MEMBERS AND NATIONAL DEPLOYEES TO LEAD THE PEOPLE’S MANIFESTO ASSEMBLIES WEEKEND*

The African National Congress National Executive Committee members together with national deployees will from Friday to Sunday, 19-21 October 2018, lead the People’s Manifesto Assemblies in Gauteng, Western Cape and Mpumalanga.

Founded on the back of our people’s struggles, the ANC continuously seeks to serve as the People’s Parliament. In line with our President, Comrade Cyril Ramaphosa’s call to return to the founding values and principles of the organization and akin to the 1955 Congress of the People; the organization continues to reconnect with society and exploring our people’s lived experiences and immediate concerns on the ground. These will find effective expression through incorporation into the final manifesto as the organization has throughout its existence derived its mandate from the people.

This consultative process commenced on a national level in Pretoria through interactions with diverse sectors of our society then rolled out to provinces. These engagements have further been broadened to include regions in all our provinces in the penultimate phase of the consultative process.

The ANC calls on all South Africans to ensure that they participate in guiding the organization in compilation of a fit for purpose document that will see our people’s aspirations finding meaningful expression.
